When our library was in need of a self checkout solution meeScan was just being released to market. meeScan's unique offering fit our need and vision for self check and was a much better option than the other traditional solutions that we had been contemplating for years. One of the most fulfilling aspects of the library industry is seeing young patrons get excited about something they picked out of our collection. With meeScan we see that same excitement all the way through the checkout process when the kids are first introduced. We could not be happier with our decision to implement meeScan. Bintec has been an extraordinary company to work with and are both innovative and committed to their customers' success.

MeeScan has given our faculty, students and staff the flexibility of conveniently checking out their own materials using the iPad or the app on their phone. Our students love 'checking themselves out'! MeeScan has also provided us with exceptional support and creative troubleshooting. We highly recommend MeeScan!

CWSL decided to purchase meeScan for our new, open reserve collection. The kiosk and desensitizing units arrived safely and quickly, and we were up and running within days. The sensitizer works seamlessly with the meeScan app so when a patron checks out a book, it is automatically desensitized and ready to go. Our patrons especially appreciate the email receipts. For them, these are much more convenient than the print receipts we distribute at circulation. The design is sleek and the provided marketing materials are effective. I have to give one more shout out to the technical assistance department at Bintec. They have been knowledgeable and patient in working with me and my limited network understanding. After a recent iPad software update, the meeScan technical expert stayed on the phone with me until everything was back as it should be. I highly recommend meeScan for its user-friendly checkout capabilities, its modern design, its accessibility via phone app, and for Bintec’s responsive staff.

As a multi-site institution spread across a large geographic area, implementing traditional self-issue solutions at each site has never been viable. Only our larger sites could justify the expense and licencing involved. Implementing meeScan solved this by providing a lightweight solution without the need for large and outdated equipment. It provides a modern, user friendly self-issue experience, improving equivalence of service for library users regardless of library location. iPad kiosks at each campus also cater for those who may not have a compatible smartphone.
The Bintec team were great in catering for our needs, ensuring various barcode types, locations and security methods were catered for. We were also able to translate the branded version of the meeScan app into Gaelic. The secure connection to our library management system and attitude to data retention also provides piece of mind. Reporting allows us to see where the app is most popular and target promotion at particular sites. Regular app updates remove the need for installing software locally or worrying about having dated equipment on our network. Perhaps most importantly, meeScan has proved popular with users, consistently scoring over 4 out 5 for in-app feedback.

There are two major benefits to the meeScan self-check system. Its compact footprint and the conscientious customer service Bintec provides during implementation. For a small library like us, with limited space and resources, this is tremendous.

Our library had rejected other self-checkout solutions in the past, because they were too bulky, too expensive, and too outmoded. meeScan gave us a self-checkout system that is literally small enough to fit in the palm of a patron's hand, vastly more affordable, and gives our patrons the modern user experience they have come to expect. We're thrilled to have found meeScan.
